As bad as it gets

The forecast for the weekend of Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 February was 'as bad as it gets'. Severe fire danger would be experienced across many areas on Saturday, worsening to Catastrophic conditions on the Sunday. At lunchtime on Saturday, Sir Ivan was first detected.
