Kangaroo Island - military help out after the bush fires
In early January flames tore through the renowned animal sanctuary of Kangaroo Island in South Australia. Two weeks later the military were deployed to help out.
Bush fires can threaten the survival of some of Australia's unique wildlife.
Animals may be burned by bush fire, but for those who survive, their food supplies may have been damaged.
Almost half of Kangaroo Island was burned in early January 2020, that is 210,000 hectares of burned area.
